Finding someone you can truly connect with is definitely one of the most important things you would experience in your life. Having someone who truly understands what you are going through will definitely make your life better. These people understand us in ways no one else can.
Most of us seek these persons who are like us and who share the same experiences we have, but anyone who has a pet knows that sometimes these animals can understand us better even more than humans can.
Take the story of Julia and Walter as an example. Ten-year-old Julia, a very special girl who had an equally special dog named Walter. Julia and her dog were both born deaf.
When Julia’s mom first saw Walter at the shelter, the dog snuggled up against Julia’s mom and smelled her neck. The mom said that Julia always smelled her mother’s neck when she was a baby as if as if looking for her mother’s scent. Knowing that the dog was deaf like her daughter, the mom knew that she had just found the dog for them.
Just much like Julia, Walter did not let his disability to let himself down. He was an energetic and bubbly little dog. Julia knew that she and Walter were the perfect match the first time she saw him.
Julia and Walter are best friends. They do almost everything together and helped each other as much. Julia taught her best pal sign language! Using sign language, Julia taught Walter how to sit, ask for food, and respond to his name
Everybody who knew their story thought that the reason people avoided adopting Walter was probably just the universe’s way of making sure that the two would end up with each other.
